Motion / Films / Super 8
And when I say film, I'm not talking about Uncle Jim’s dodgy old camcorder stuck in the corner, though, fair play to the 80s nostalgia making a comeback and giving me a reason to rock a Super8. I'm talking about a proper film, a piece of art, a story crafted from thousands of tiny moments, all tied together with the perfect soundtrack to capture the energy and emotion of your day.
Film allows us to tap back into time unlike anything else. It’s one thing to look back on a beautiful photo of Nanna grinning ear to ear at the wedding - it’s another entirely to watch the hilarity unfold and laugh along with her.
What we are talking about is catching moments in time, stolen glances, happy tears, holding hands, dancing feet, running kids, every cultural tradition, all the little things that you didn’t notice on the day but, looking back now, mean the world.
The people who couldn’t join you to celebrate will feel like they were there. And those who come along after the big day will get to see one of the greatest days of your life decades from now.
But enough of me waffling on. They say a picture tells a thousand words — so, in that case, a film must tell a million. Let’s let the films do the talking. Here’s a selection of some favourites.
